Off Season Volleyball Workouts

As a volleyball recruit, it is important to train during the season as well as in the off season. Each individual, coach, or workout facility may have a different opinion about what is necessary for a volleyball player to do in the off season. If your coach or athletic trainer gave you a specific workout, make sure to follow all of the drills because there is a reason they gave it to you.

If you are working on your own, there is a variety of different things you can do. Speed, agility, and quickness are keys to being a great volleyball recruit. Along with those three qualities, it is also important for a volleyball player to work on increasing their vertical. This can be done through different jumping drills as well as strengthening the leg muscles. Here is a detailed workout for volleyball athletes http://mrstillotson.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/volleyball-off-season-workout.pdf

It is important that you make sure you are going into the fall season in shape. It is also important that while you are training off the court, you find time to get touches on a volleyball and play as much as possible.
