BigMan Camp- Cleveland, Ohio

It's not everyday that Offensive and Defensive Linemen get a chance to work with College Coaches. That'll change this Saturday at the first annual Webletes.com Big Man Camp at Oberlin College.

This Saturday, March 31st, Webletes will be joined by coaches from Oberlin College, Manchester College, North Olmsted High School and Buckeye High School for the camp in the newly built Oberlin College indoor facility.

Every camp coach has either played or coached in college! Athletes will be tested on a few agility drills and the bench press. They then will be taught on the techniques of both offense and defensive line. Drills will be conducted to improve footwork, hand-eye coordination, and block reaction amongst a number of other important skills to play on the line. We'll then finish with the most exciting part  1 on 1s'! We can't wait!

Registration online will be taken until Thursday. You can also register at the door. To sign up online go to http://webletes.com/campnew.

Webletes.com Kicking / Punting Camp -Cleveland

What a great Kicking Camp we had this past weekend in North Olmsted, Ohio. Every kicker/punter who attended got better. Thanks again to Gregg Berkshire and Todd Carter for bringing their kicking and punting expertise and helping these athletes improve their skill level. It was impressive to see how much better, in one day, many of them got. Athletes learned basics from their drops on punts, to footwork on their kickoff, and just about everything in between. We are excited to for our next Kicking/Punting Camp we are hosting on June 23rd in Charlotte. For full details, and to register, go to Webletes.com/campnew. Recruiting Story: Pat Curran

Here's my recruiting story:

Somewhere around springtime of my junior year, I decided I was going
to be a Division 1 football player. I told my coach I did not want to
talk to any coaches that were not from a D-1 school. I did this for
two reasons. First, I wanted to play at the highest level. And two, I
did not want to waste any more coaches’ time recruiting me. My mind
was made up, and I was going to make this happen.

After that decision, I was only talking to three schools; Bowling
Green, Kent St. and UMass. This made recruiting fairly easy for me. I
wanted to go to Kent St. or BG. UMass seemed too far for away. So
going into my senior season, I was down to two colleges. Unlike today,
college camps were not a big deal. The senior evaluation camps did not
come about often and attendance numbers were no where near where they
are now.

Senior year was another strong one for me and yet again recruiting was
heating up. More D-2 and D-3 schools were coming in trying to see me,
but Coach Ryan (my head coach) would tell them I was not interested.
Kent St. and BG stayed on me and both offered me a walk-on position on
their football teams. By no means was I satisfied, but it was my only
hope of making my dreams come true. So in the fall of 2002, I became a
preferred walk-on at Bowling Green State University.
